Open ticket with THUS to investigate link to Dumfries and Galloway College, ( 22/06/07 ) stats show routing protocol drops out in early morning THUS opened ticket 116442 Thus contacted requesting access to sites, some indication that a fault may have been found. Trying to arrange suitable time with college for BT to disruptively examine possible circuit fault Have asked THUS to ask BT to attend ~10:00 till 13:00 on wed 4th July. BT have attended site and swapped a card on their shelf. site was down for ~10 mins 11:50 04/07/07 Link has gone down twice since the unit was changed and appears to have a knock on impact on the firewall at the college. ~1 min @ 19:53 04/07/07 ~1 min @ 10:35 05/07/07 we have passed the support call back to thus, BT have looked at the circuit and would like to send out an engineer. Dumfries IT staff are on holiday, advising BT that tuesday am would be another opertunity to look at the circuit. circuit looks like its bounced again 18:20 05/07/07 circuit looks like its bounced again 09:31 06/07/07 circuit looks like its bounced again 08:53 10/07/07 BT were due to replace the A end shelf today 10/07/07 but have missed the engineering slot we ll try to arrange another one for later in the week Have arranged access for BT for thursday 12/07/07 AM ( contact with THUS suggest BT not going to site, BT reporting that NTU reports card inserted,removed messages trying to assertain what that may mean, BT confirm probable shelf issue. circuit looks like its bounced again 17:05 12/07/07 circuit looks like its bounced again ~16.30 16/07/07 BT are going to look at the site tomorrow ( 18/07/07 ) with a view to replacing the ntu shelf circuit looks like its bounced again 17:00 17/07/07 circuit looks like its bounced again 10:33 18/07/07 BT have arrived on site and wish to perform a bit error test on the link prior to looking at the NTU. Stow College have contacted us to say that the link to their firewall has gone down, ~09.00 31/08/07 Router interface is up and seeing traffic. They are going to investigate swapping service to another port on the router fixes problem, have opened ticket 542933 with ntl for part replacement of supervisor engine sending config etc to engineer they will arrange access to local site card now due to be swapped on thurs 13th sept before 09.00 hrs NTL have discovered that their spare is faulty, this replacement has now be cancelled. may be replaced on friday morning down 08:26 14/09/07 up 08:33 14/09/07

Builders apear to have dug thru the main fibre cable between Glasgow and Strathclyde, alternate routing has cut in and no site has gone down. THUS fault ref:- 191709 cable restored by 21:00 no loss of service to sites THUS now have engineering on site and are looking at a temp repair until such times as the cables can be rerouted in new ducting round the site. The 48 core cable is broken in multiple places so the actual splicing will take sometime

The line card to which the netsight server is attached has developed a fault its been reconfigured and moved to another port 13:10 06/08/08 The card has completely failed taking the netsight service with it.... a spare has been commissioned into service, no sites were down as the backups all worked but netsight had no visibility of the network 10:30 till 12:12 08/08/08
